Looking for a booty boost? Currently, there are three main options to help you obtain a perky bum.
The first surgical option is a fat grafting surgery known commonly as a Brazilian Butt-Lift. This procedure takes fat from elsewhere on your body via liposuction and adds it to the butt. The other surgical option is butt implants, where actual physical implants are inserted. The third option is a the only non-invasive route to a plumper posterior. Fillers like Sculptra are used to augment the butt area.
At Skinjectables, we’ve had a few inquiries about these procedures and the specific differences between them. And we thought we’d take a minute to shed some light on the topic.
The main point: safety is the key issue
The key difference between the Sculptra Butt Lift (that you could get at Skinjectables) and the Brazilian Butt Lift (“BBL”) is safety. In recent reports, it is suggested that the BBL is the most dangerous procedure in plastic surgery with the risk of death being 1 in 3000. The autologous fat transfer involves placing the fat in danger zones where the deep blood vessels traverse, this could lead to severe complications and even death.
With the Sculptra Butt Lift, the procedure is non-invasive and can deliver similar results to a BBL. Injections of Sculptra, or poly-L-lactic acid, are placed in the buttocks to improve contour, lift and shape and reduce cellulite. Injections are superficial and subcutaneous, meaning the procedure is less invasive.
The other benefit of a non-invasive and non-surgical option? Less recovery time.
Sounds great, right? Perky Bum with less downtime.
It is important to note that the Sculptra Butt Lift can be more expensive than BBL and sometimes many sessions are required. If you are considering any type of augmentation, you should research the procedure, learn its risks and benefits, and seek care from a board-certified plastic surgeon with expertise in that area.
